________________________________________________________________________________ Breaking the silence is an organization consisting of Israeli soldiers and veterans who can not bear to be silent about the injustices they were set to take part in the Gaza, West Bank and Jerusalem. The Israeli government and Mossad do what they can to let this group of soldiers have less attention, and has on several occasions imprisoned members of the organization.
The organization aim to make the Israeli people understand the chaos they have caused, and want them to realize how bad the Palestinians are treated. This group of Israeli soldiers also distance them selves from the terror by the looting and destruction of homes they have exposed the civilian Palestinians to. The stories the soldiers and veterans tell are various, here`s a few of them:
An intelligence officer told us during an exercise to give him Palestinian kneecaps. When we asked what he meant by this, he replied that we were going to shoot stone-throwers in the kneecaps. Afterwards we had to make an ambush, and the officer shot the stone throwers kneecaps, while we watched. Many of us were upset. (Attached link leads to a video where a former Israeli soldier recounts.)
One night we shot around us like savages, smashed windows, destroyed street lighting, stormed into private homes where people were sleeping, tore up the tires and went completely amock without any reason. When the brigade commander came in the next morning, he asked no questions.
A commander invent a game to make things more entertaining at a checkpoint:
Israel still holds the shepherd boy David sacret. David had to win over the Philistine giant Goliath from Gath, with a stonesling. If one were writing the story today, the armor, sword, spear and javelin of Goliat would have been replaced with bombers, carcinogenic DIME-bombs and Hellfire missiles. David would unfortunately not have had a chance, but then it`s not men who know the difference between right and wrong that governs Israel today.
Indeed!! It is interesting to establish that we have on one hand a far from perfect but however working democracy (the only one in this part of the world) that allows for free speech, free press, and where individual freedom is considered as natural while on the other side we have tyrannical, backward, and oppressing regimes that applies terror not only to its enemies but also to its own population.
Tyrannical regimes that denies its population the most basic freedom, and imposes the most horrific religious rules upon even small children that is brainwashed in to hatred before the age of five.
Absolutely not my dear ;-)
I know perfectly well the many flaws and not so satisfactory issues within the Israeli society and there is no reason to push any of them under the carpet.
However when we look at the absolutely tyrannical, oppressive and gruesome societies that we can find in the opposite camp, there are no whatsoever doubts about where the light must be put and where the human rights situation needs and extremely urgent upgrade.
In Israel there are many issues and we can every day see how the free and democratic society is trying to address them. There is seldom a perfect solution but it is moving forward just like in any other working democratic environment.
What is indeed disappointing is that in your hate for the Israelis, you completely fail to see the extreme oppression and barbaric gruesome activity of Israel’s enemies.
I don’t have a problem with that you are questioning Israeli actions in the past. This is open for discussion although it would be an advantage to have a certain insight and not just pondering politically motivated slogans that have no whatsoever value.
I find it disappointing that you have never ever raised the issues of extreme oppression among the Palestinians, that you have never talked about the killings and use as human shield innocent Palestinians by Hamas, that you without any resentment accepts the violent indoctrination of Palestinian children, and that you completely turns the blind eye to the brutal and specifically targeted murdering of Israeli civilians.

That Israeli soldiers (even those with mental disturbances) can speak freely is a good sign of a working democracy within the borders of Israel.
Whoever any Hamas soldier that dears to speak out in the same way will immediately be brutally murdered.
That says it all.
That’s all you have to say?

You see only one side in this conflict, and it isn’t even true.
